ON INDEPENDENCE DAY SENATOR SANDERS VISITS BRISTOL TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER PROJECT

Addison County neighbors tired of waiting for access to health and dental care plan to bring community health center to their region

On July 4th, Senator Bernie Sanders will be supporting the efforts of the 5-TOWN HEALTH ALLIANCE to bring a community health center to Addison County. Please help us further our cause. The Senator seeks to assure sufficient federal funding so that there can be a health center in every county of Vermont. In addition to providing cost-effective health care, community health centers contribute directly to the local economy with jobs and dollars.

The 5-Town Health Alliance plans to open a fully integrated health center, making Complementary and Alternative Therapies available in addition to comprehensive dental, medical, and behavioral care. They envision a health center that will play a central role in the health needs of the community: with education and outreach classes, web offerings, acupuncture clinics, smoking cessation and nutrition classes, a library of health resources, and pointers for fitness across all ages. Sen. Sanders is joining the 5-Town Health Alliance to highlight the need for expanded access to health care and to celebrate the growth of this grass-roots effort to bring health care to everyone in northern Addison County. Senator Sanders will be on the Bristol green at approximately 1:00 on July 4th to talk with residents and lend his support to the community health center project.

Access to quality health care is a right and should not be limited by ability to pay. Healthy communities begin with healthy families.
